Throughout my early teenage years, I was anything but organized.
In fact, clutter could have been my middle name. Cleaning my closet out would go something like this: “there will be a special occasion to wear that to in the future,” or: “I am sure I will need it later.” When in fact, I never would wear it, and I certainly didn’t need it.
When I decided to start a blog, I knew that I needed to remodel my room to match my current style and with that I decided to do some major de-cluttering. Today I’m sharing with you some simple tips and tricks that I learned along the way to help make the space you have look — and feel! — more organized.
Tip #1: Drawer Dividers
At only $12, this set of inexpensive drawer dividers was a lifesaver. When I remodeled my room, I decided to get rid of my giant dresser due to lack of space. It seemed like a great idea at the time, but I didn’t think about where I was going to store the things that were living in it. I found these under-bed drawers from Ikea, and my problem was solved. These drawer dividers make it so easy to see everything and they give every item a specific place.
Tip #2: Buy hangers of the same color and style.
By having all of your hangers the same, it instantly makes your closet look neater. I purchased mine from Marshall’s, but you can also purchase these on Amazon!
Tip #3: Use your old candle jars for storage.
You can use your used candle jars for cotton pads, q-tips, lip glosses, toothbrushes, pens, and more. All you have to do is clean them out first! This tip also saves money since you won’t have to buy separate containers. I love this simple trick because most candle jars are much prettier than standard storage containers.
I hope that you found these simple tips helpful — and if you have any tips of your own please leave them in the comments!
