A Hamptons Inspired Outfit

May 29, 2015

Like many women, I have this obsession with The Hamptons in New York.

If you’re unfamiliar with this magical place, The Hamptons are a group of villages and hamlets in the towns of Southampton and East Hampton, which form the South Fork of Long Island, New York. The Hamptons form a popular seaside resort, one of the historical summer colonies of the American Northeast. The area features some of the most expensive residential properties in the US; additionally, there is a very particular clothing style associated with The Hamptons — a very beachy, nautical type of look.

I’m not exactly sure what the draw is, but I’m hooked; I must go there.

And since I must go there, I’m dressing for the occasion! I feel like this outfit I’m sharing with you today would be a perfect for a casual day at The Hamptons. I love this blazer because it is so light and airy, but still such a statement. It really is the perfect summer blazer and will no doubt become one of my summer go-to pieces!

I played around with mixing neutrals when putting this outfit together, and while I loved the overall look, I thought it needed that extra something to really tie it all together. To achieve the complete look, I added my beach-scene clutch from Madewell. That clutch is a dream. I am infatuated with it.

Also, about my hair: I decided to try out a hairstyle that has become quite trendy recently. The half-up-half-down bun truly is my new favorite. It took me a few weeks to get used to but overall I like the convenience that it brings. It keeps my hair out of my face, which is perfect for the summer!

What outfit trends are looking forward to incorporating into your wardrobe this summer? We would love to hear about it in the comments below! Have a happy weekend!
