In honor of this being the weekend before Father’s Day, I thought it would be fitting to share a few simple, but effective, ways you can pray for your husband. I believe it is so important as wives and mothers that we pray for our husbands.
-Jesus, thank You for my husband.
Thank You for blessing us and for blessing our marriage. Thank You for his job and allowing him to provide for our family in one way or the other. Thank You for each morning that he has breath in his lungs, and thank You for his health. Jesus, I ask You to help me remind him he is enough as a husband and as the father to our children.
Help me to offer words of affirmation that will build him up instead of tear him down. In Jesus’ name.
-Guard his mind
Lord, I ask that You protect my husband's mind. Guard his thoughts against evil and perversion that may try to lurk in the shadows. Keep his brain sharp and focused so he can accomplish the tasks you have set for him. Help him to accomplish his tasks at work and to be diligent. Renew his thoughts and help them to not be conformed to this world. In Jesus’ name.
-Protect and Guard his Senses
Lord, I ask that You would protect and be a shield for my husband's eyes, ears, and mouth.
•Let his eyes desire to look on the things above. Let his sight be set on You. Guard his eyes and let no evil thing be set before them of his own will or the will of others.
•Guard his ears and drown out the noise of this world; tune them to hear Your still small voice. Help him to be attentive to Your words and the words of the shepherd You’ve placed over our lives.
•Guard his mouth that no evil thing may be spoken from it. Let his conversation be wholesome at the workplace and in our home. Help him to speak the truth. Help him to build up and not tear down with his words.
-Bless and protect his body
Lord, I ask that You would give my husband good health. Help him to take care of the temple You have given him. Strengthen him and give him good rest. Give him stamina. Bless the work of his hands and the fruit of his labor. Help his arms to reach for the lost and draw them to You. Help him to flee from sin and turn away from darkness. Help him to love and be affectionate toward his family and to remember that he is so loved by his wife and children, and, most importantly, by You.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Ladies, there is so much more we can add to this prayer; I trust that you will in order to personalize it to your specific situations.
Jesus loves YOU and has given you the wonderful ability to show your husband the kind of love that only you can.
Your prayers make a difference.
You are a world changer.
You make a difference in your home.
You create the atmosphere and the spirit of your home.
Be blessed as you bless your husband this Father’s Day and every day.
