DJ: How would you describe your wedding decor, theme, or vibe?
BH: I would describe my wedding theme as classy, refined, and intimate. Something I've said from the moment I got engaged was I want our wedding day to feel personal and centered on the love we share - focusing on the meaning behind every detail. I also knew that I wanted to have an all-black-attire wedding. Our main colors were black with white carnations, baby breath and roses.
DJ: What are some of your favorite or special memories of your wedding day?
BH: Something I absolutely loved was that my husband and I met at the venue super early before all the decor was finished and everything was set up. We met at the dock over a beautiful pond, and we got to read our private vows to each other. It was so special and it was truly a beautiful moment between us. Another special moment that I loved was during the ceremony we wanted to do a unity prayer; we got to pick people that played such a huge role in our lives and the presence of God was there in that moment. We had a moment of just praying and thanking God for all He has done. Lastly, after the ceremony, my husband and I had a private dinner. This is something I would recommend to any bride and groom. The day goes by so fast so we took that moment to eat - just us two - and we were so excited and giddy because we were officially married.
DJ: Were there any funny moments or things that didn't go according to plan?
BH: I honestly don't think we had anything go wrong and if it did, I didn't know about it, but something funny that happened was when my flower girl (she's four) walked down the aisle she didn't drop any flower petals down the aisle. Once she got up the aisle, her mom was sitting on the second row so she went to her and said, "When can I drop the flower petals?". I thought that was so funny when her mom told me that after the ceremony. I didn't even notice any flower petals though because I was so focused on seeing my husband and looking at him.
DJ: How did you find the perfect wedding dress?
BH: I knew what I wanted from the beginning: something that felt like me. Something with puffy sleeves and an elegance was my dream combination. I found my gown from a bridal shop called Lutien Bridal Gowns on Etsy, and the designer, Lana Hepas, was absolutely amazing. She made every adjustment I requested, and when I received the dress, it fit perfectly—it was truly my dream gown.
DJ: Do you have any advice for future brides?
BH: My best advice for future brides is don’t stress. I know that’s easier said than done, but remember the day will be beautiful no matter what. It goes by so fast so just take everything in because what truly matters is that you’re marrying the love of your life. Some other advice I could recommend is give your wedding guests a specific attire to wear. When everyone is matching the vibe you are wanting it makes everything tie together. I asked all my guests to wear all black and it was so beautiful and matched the timeless, elegant vibe I was going for.
DJ: Is there anything else in particular that you'd like to share about your wedding or your love story?
BH: Our wedding day was one of the best days of my life. Seeing so many people who are a part of both my husband’s and my life come together to celebrate our forever was something I’ll never forget and was so special to me.
