Around the Table

Ah, Thanksgiving.

A day of gratitude, yummy food, and valuable time spent with loved ones. A lovely celebration during the splendid autumn season.

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching (only one more day!) and I couldn’t be more pleased! Most people celebrate this holiday by gathering ’round the table to share dinner, conversation, and laughter. And of course, the table is usually adorned with fine dishes, embroidered tablecloths, and mood-setting candles. There are many fun ways to spruce up your table for this special day of thanks.

Did you know you can find free place cards possibly in your own backyard? Gather some large fall leaves and recreate this look using paint and a marker.

Do not be afraid to think outside of the box and go bold for your table decor. Although I adore the traditional fall colors, I also love a good non-traditional color scheme. These neutral and metallic hues are fun and festive, yet still maintain an air of elegance.

Paint some pumpkins for a quick and cute DIY project. What a clever way to display your dinner menu!

Paper placemats tend to be a bit on the casual side, but this idea is wonderful! As dessert is being devoured, your dinner guests could be invited to share what they wrote on their placemats. Perhaps this would be a way to jumpstart a new tradition!

There are endless ways to decorate using pumpkins and gourds. They can even be used for a creative flower centerpiece.

In spite of all the beautiful ways to present your special holiday meal tomorrow, let us strive to remember that having a thankful heart trumps pretty tablescapes or delicious meals.
God has blessed each of us abundantly and we have much to be thankful for. Have a grand Thanksgiving day tomorrow!
