Today, I thought I would share with you a little bit of side table inspiration. I’ll share some of my favorite tips and tricks to make your bedside table look as chic as possible. All of these tips also work for other spaces, such as a desk.
1. Height
It drives me crazy if I don’t have enough height to my bedside table. Flowers make all the difference when decorating your bedside table, because they add height, they completely transform a room in general, and they breathe life into your space. They also can be great to add a pop of color if your room is like mine and is all neutral. My personal favorites are tulips and peonies! I added this gold glitter tree stump under the flower vase, and I love how it all turned out.
2. Work in Sections of 3
If you mainly want the basics on your bedside table, working in sections of three really helps give you a game plan. I like to start with the tallest item in the back, then the second tallest, then the shortest item in front. I usually put them in sort of a triangle shape like I did above.
3. Have something decorative, but still useful
We all know that candles are the perfect touch when decorating, but matchsticks can be perfect as well! These adorable matches are useful and adorable!
My absolute favorite candles are the Voluspa candles in Baltic Amber and Goji Torocco Orange. They burn so much longer than the Bath and Body Works candles, and they’re coconut wax, making them a lot healthier for you to inhale.
5. Decorative Boxes
I was so excited when I found this gold and white storage box at Target. It’s so cute, plus it is the perfect place to store stuff that wouldn’t fit in the desk drawers!
5. Books!
I use books all the time when rearranging my desk and bedside table. They add height, and add a personal touch. I love seeing what books other people have on display in their homes (nosy much?), because they tell you so much about a person. Books also can be great for adding height and color!
This pencil holder is from Anthropologie, but here’s one that’s identical and much cheaper. I cannot for the life of me remember where I bought this clock from, but I love it!
That’s all the tips I have for now. I hope that they have given you some inspiration. I would seriously love if you shared some of your favorite tips in the comments below. Have a wonderful day everyone, and God bless.
