Blush & Burgundy 50th Birthday Party

October 09, 2024 ยท by Anyssa Hessler

If you know me, you know I love hosting! Whether it be small gatherings with just my youth girls or my entire family for Thanksgiving. I love planning, finding new recipes and finding the perfect decorations. This year was my mother's 50th birthday and I wanted to put together a beautiful party to celebrate her.

I'm not normally a pink girl but I thought mauve, blush and burgundy would be so fitting for a feminine, fall fiftieth! I found almost all my decor on Amazon so I thought it would be fun to share everything I used to make planning your next party even easier. I was all over the place the day of the party so I wasn't able to get the decor shots I was hoping for but I created a mood board to show you my inspiration!

First up - fresh flowers! I was already planning on roses, and it just so happened a local grocery store was running a rose special the week of the party - how perfect, right? Needless to say, no one in my area was able to get the red and pink roses that week because I snatched them up as quickly as I could! I know fresh flowers aren't always feasible so artificial or even craft flowers make a great alternative when needed. For me, the flowers doubled as party favors. I sent every family home with a vase full of flowers and everyone was happy! And yes, as pictured, I do recommend coffee as well anytime party planning is involved!

We kept the main menu pretty simple. My aunt made a huge pot of chili and I made baked potatoes and we had a chili-baked potato bar with all the toppings. Everyone enjoyed building their own meal! I highly recommend this for your next fall party!

A party isn't a party without charcuterie! Everyone enjoyed snacking on cheese & fruit - my kids especially; I had to keep a close eye on their little fingers. Rather than going all out on a cake, I made two of my mother's favorite desserts and I honestly think everyone enjoyed them even more than a fancy cake. We were stuffed by the end of it all!

This palette turned out so pretty! It would be beautiful for a 50th birthday, bridal shower, anniversary dinner, etc. Here are the links to the items I used:

  • Cursive "fifty" cake topper - here
  • '50' charcuterie platter (numbers are sold individually) - here
  • Dinner plates, cake plates, napkins, cups & silverware bundle - here
  • Fancy disposable soup bowls - here
  • Table runners (I also draped a few on the photo wall) - here
  • Balloon arch (you pick the colors you want - but I highly recommend this seller, this was the easiest arch I have ever put together) - Esty not Amazon, here
  • Candle holders - here
  • Candles - here
  • I don't have a link but I can't recommend the vases I used enough. They are plastic but they're a great size and only $1.25 a piece from Dollar Tree so I had no problems letting guests take them home after the festivities!
