Charming Charleston: Virtual Travel with Charity

March 23, 2023 ยท by Charity Walter

My family and I recently visited the charming town of Charleston, South Carolina - a port city known for its elegant antebellum homes and cobblestone streets. This was our first time in this lovely city and it has quickly become one of my favorite places!

We stayed in the beautiful Loutrel hotel and can not say enough about the incredible service we received there. Our stay came with free French-style breakfast, a free snack and drink bar in our room, and bikes for use from the hotel. The location of the Loutrel is perfect! It's one block from Main Street and within walking distance of our favorite sites. We walked everywhere from the hotel!

I was thrilled to see Rainbow Row - the picturesque pastel homes lining the street. We walked through the streets, getting lost, and enjoying all the sights.

King Street shopping was incredible! The storefronts are gorgeous, filled with antiques or yummy food. Bakeries are on every corner in this city.

The Charleston City Market was super fun as well with more affordable "tourist" goods.

We took a couple of house tours, and my husband and I absolutely loved this! We learned so much history at each home.

Charleston is known for its horse-drawn carriage rides and we say they are worth every penny. We took a buggy tour and enjoyed it so much; it's a unique way to see more of the city.

Magnolias restaurant is a must-go! The Southern-style cuisine was delicious and the atmosphere charming and elegant.

We also heard great things about S.N.O.B., but we didn't have time to go.

This lovely city quickly captured my Southern loving heart and was such a great vacation for our little family. We will certainly be visiting again!
