The Christmas holidays are upon us and with it brings family and friend gatherings, the spirit of giving, and remembrance of the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ. It’s so easy to get caught up in the traditions and business of the season, but may we remember that pointing to the real reason for it all is the greatest gift we can give our families and others, because it is the only gift that will continue on year after year and through every season of life.
I was leaving Walmart recently and stopped at a red light on the way and noticed a woman holding a sign for diapers and food. She had a baby in a stroller and a young boy with her and my heart hurt for them, thinking of the fact that she is someone’s daughter. There are so many people that truly need to know of the joy of the Lord and the reason He came down from Heaven to Earth. God has so much to give to all who simply ask and the beauty of what He does for us is that He does not only give of His goodness certain times of the year, He gives freely to all who ask every day.
God lives today and loves His children enough to give His life to save them. This is the good news and what a beautiful gift it is to give to those who need some Christmas cheer.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, full of the joy of the Lord!
