Y’all. It’s FINALLY December! ? the fall and winter seasons are my all time favorite. I just love the crisp cool weather and I love dressing for the cold. I feel like you can get pretty creative with winter clothes with the need for layers and extra accessories.
We’re headed to Disneyland today (approx. 6 hours away) and the weather there is totally different than where I live. So, when I was dressing today, I had to think: LAYERS. I asked myself, “What can I wear that I can make work for both climates?”. The current temperature where I live is about 55 degrees. We’re heading towards Southern California, so the weather there is about 75-80 degrees right now and sunny. That’s a big difference! I also wanted to make sure my outfit would be comfortable enough to endure 6 hours of driving.
After thinking for a bit, I decided to wear one of my favorite Tee Dresses, (similar here, here+ here). It’s so lightweight, and also sooo comfy. I figured I can also re-wear and style it for warmer weather another day while I’m there. I paired the dress with a Free People dupe long cardigan from Target. This is a recent purchase and I LOVE it!! There is a Free People sweater out there nearly identical to the one I’m wearing, but this one is a fraction of the price. The sweater is really cozy and pairs well with the dress. You could style this sweater multiple ways and dressing it up or down.
I decided to wear tights and paired my outfit with my Matisse Tawny Riding Boots. I am in love with these boots! They’re comfy, but my favorite part is the natural distressing on them. I love the rustic patina on them.
I figured out how to pull off a comfy outfit for the road trip, and also making sure I can ‘shed layers’ for the fickle LA weather. Cold weather dressing can be a challenge in California, but that’s half the fun! With this one, I think I nailed it! ? This is our first time going Disneyland (my son and I) and we are so excited to go!
There’s something so special about family trips and all the memories made on them…and Christmas is just around the corner! What are some of your plans for the Holiday Season? Share them with me in the comments below!
