Happy day after Christmas, darlings!
The calendar declares it to be winter but the temperatures outside say otherwise because it feels a lot like fall to me! Here in Indiana the temperatures have been in the mid 50’s — just warm enough to enjoy a stroll in the park. I’m making the most of this brisk weather until the snow begins to fall.
I try to make good use of all my clothing and so I do my best to transition my pieces from season to season. This burnt orange maxi dress I found at H&M is one of my absolute favorite pieces. It’s a soft cotton and incredibly versatile — I just had to go back and buy the same dress in a second color! Here’s a similar dress that can achieve the same look. I layered the dress over this bright flannel from Target. The combination is the epitome of fall but the colors work beautifully for the holiday season, too. For winter think: red, navy, forest green, gold, black and white!
I kept the look casual and decided to wear my caramel riding boots from Kohl’s. Riding boots are a fall must-have and I wear these beauties just about every other day. They’re classy and comfy! To finish the look, I added this straw fedora I found at Forever 21. Hats are my absolute favorite accessory. They add the perfect final touch to any outfit. Not to mention they make hair styling oh so simple!
