Embellish The Season With Vintage Style

December 16, 2014

Aside from all the feminine elegance of ruffles and lace, which I absolutely love to wear, there is one style that I like to expand my wardrobe with: vintage style. That being said, there are numerous ways you can dress up your outfit that will add a spice of vintage twist!  If you feel the urge to switch your wardrobe up, and are unsure of how to do so, here are some ways on how you can embellish your vintage side for the holiday season.

I know some ladies look at all mixed patterns and think they could never pull off this fun trend. But it’s all in mixing and matching the right colors and the right details to make it happen.

This particular style is one of my most admired outfits, it is a fun combination of designs with the striped top and paisley skirt.

When it comes to contrasting patterns, I take much delight in adding my own personal twist to an outfit. When I bought this thrifted vintage skirt, I decided to add some extra length. By simply stitching a piece of navy and white diamond-print material to the bottom of the skirt, I added an additional contrasting element to the overall look. This is a fairly easy project that will enhance your outfit with a unique look!

If you’re a vintage lover like myself, and have interest in looking for a frugal purchase, I encourage you to search out your local thrift stores. I found this lovely leather Dooney & Bourke handbag for an amazing steal of $10.  The purse suits the outfit perfectly in a way that makes the green color of the skirt and scarf pop out.

I love how these shoes add a slight edge to the outfit. They are fairly versatile and can be worn with either a casual jean skirt, cream lace dress, or with a vintage outfit as shown here.

Don’t be afraid to take a challenge with mixing and matching your clothes.  Let your outfits show your character and speak modest style to those around you this season.

Always remember to dress with intention while having merry and bright spirit!
