In Texas, we get a little excited about fall weather. I kid you not, if the thermometer dips to 69ºF, our Facebook and Instagram feeds fill up with friends showing off their boots and scarves – and that’s even if afternoon temps are predicted to reach ninety degrees!
The weather is starting to cool around here though, and I’m eager for an excuse to pull out the warmer clothes. I’ve scoured Pinterest for some skirt/sweater inspiration, and whether you live in Alaska, Florida, or anywhere in between, I hope these ensembles inspire you.
I love the mixture of denim, monochrome, and stripes in the look above; black and white stripes are versatile because of all the other colors and prints they can be paired with.
Another great thing about this outfit is that even while wearing at least three layers, the model doesn’t look bulky — which means she’s good to go in cooler weather without sacrificing comfort.
Yellow is sometimes associated with spring and summer, but it can also be reminiscent of autumn leaves and harvest. Yellow and gray make for a pretty color combo, and a brown belt and cute shoes add personality to the outfit above. For modesty’s sake, a tank top could be added in a neutral or complementary color.
Bohemian is a term said to describe writers, artists, and others who live artistic lifestyles, but you don’t have to spend hours sipping lattes in a coffee house to pull off the boho-chic look above. A slouchy knitted hat and long cardigan sweater will keep your head and arms warm while you enjoy the crisp autumn air.
Okay, so the outfit above, with its fresh white and feminine pink shades, does kind of evoke springtime. With a few color changes, however, it could turn beautifully fall-ish. My favorite thing about this outfit (along with the adorable skirt) is the way the blouse ruffles peek out from the sweater with a scarf effect.
