If you are anything like me, you probably find yourself desperately searching for outfits that easily transition from fall into the winter season. I have found this to be a very common issue when getting ready in the morning, as most of my ensembles are very dependent on the weather that particular day. Each day is entirely different from the next in Michigan — last week we had several days of 70℉ weather and this week it’s been extremely chilly with lots of wind. Over the course of the past few weeks I have developed a few tips on how to easily transition your wardrobe from fall to winter with the varying weather. I hope you enjoy!
First of all, let’s talk about the image above — Tamryn from Wannabe Fashion Blogger recently reviewed our Central Park Dress and the way she paired it with that gorgeous fur-trimmed coat and sassy black heals is perfect for the fall-to-winter transition!
One of my favorite transition pieces is a leather skirt. Leather skirts are essential when transitioning from fall to winter because they offer warmth and protection from potential snow. I love pairing a leather skirt with a cable knit sweater and a blazer this way you don’t necessarily have to wear a coat. I would probably pair tights with this look because I tend to get cold easily.
THE SWEATER DRESS. Let the church say amen! This piece is one of my absolute favorites in terms of seasonal clothing. I love a turtleneck sweater dress because it’s classy, elegant, and effortless and I am completely in love with the look. I love paring sweater dresses with fur accents. In this case, she paired the dress with a fur-trimmed coat. This look is so easy to achieve and something that takes virtually seconds to put together. I have also seen others layer a black fitted shirt under the sleeveless dress to achieve instant modesty.
An oversized sweater of any kind paired with a pencil skirt is a seamless combo. This look is so timeless. When you’re wearing a heavier sweater that also happens to be a turtleneck, you don’t have to wear a coat if it’s warm enough outside, which is a gift in itself. I wear this look constantly and find that I always feel both comfortable and put together. Pair this with black leather booties and you’re good to go.
I adore this look! The blanket scarf is so effortless are literally everywhere right now and super easy to find. Sometimes I’ll wear all black and then just throw on a blanket scarf because it instantly amps up the outfit. This is a perfect transition outfit.
