Heartwarming Family Time

February 10, 2015

My family is close knit, and we love to spend quality time together. We even designate one night each week as “family night” where we officially spend quality time together.

Family is one of life’s greatest blessings; perhaps you even have close friends that you consider to be your family, as well. Cultivating and maintaining relationships with others is of upmost importance. There are many different ways we can spend time with our loved ones, but here are a few ideas for sharing some time with others while staying cozy this winter!

1. Talk

It’s easy so caught up in electronic forms of communication such as texting, emails, and social media that we forget the importance of face-to-face communication. So have some open conversation, recall family memories, tell jokes and enjoy laughter, or have a good heart to heart with a family member.

2. Play Games

Pop some popcorn and gather the family around for a friendly competition of Checkers, Uno, or a good old-fashioned board game!

3. Cook

Try spending time in the kitchen together, whipping up some warm brownies and cookies, then sharing it together around the table. Another idea would be to make some homemade hot cocoa and sip it around the fire.

4. Reminisce Over Family Photos

Pull out the family photo albums or boxes of mementos. You might smile, laugh, or cry reminisce over each memory represented, and perhaps you will even recall some memories once forgotten.

Regardless of how you and yours choose to spend your time this winter (and the whole year!) the most important thing is that you do it together. Make some memories that will last for a lifetime!

Spread some love this February and don’t forget to use our hashtag, #shespresent, throughout the remainder of the month!
