As quickly as the cooler weather comes we wish it away and hope for spring, but you can stay bright and cheery all year long by adding some pops of color into your cold season wardrobe.
Nicole showed us a darling bright yellow skirt this summer in her post Yellow Is The New Black — and while neon hues seem like they might only belong in summer they are also a great way to put a little pep in your wardrobe all year-round.
I am addicted to the Dainty Jewell’s Pencil Skirt. I have four and I just can’t stop. When I saw the clock/pocket-watch design I immediately purchased it. The length of these skirts is fabulous, there is no slit, and they’re lined so I don’t need to layer with a slip AND boast a perfect, modest fit.
Have you ever found an adorable skirt but then realized the sizing was completely off and couldn’t size up enough to make it modest? Too many times, right?! That’s just not the case with the Dainty Jewell’s Pencil Skirt. I order my size according to the size chart and it’s like magic — it actually fits true to size! A near phenomenon these days.
Anyway, back to bright colors and happiness. Layer those brights up to make them season appropriate. I found my neon pink cable knit sweater last season at Forever 21 (similar style here), my denim shirt can be found here from JC Penney and my booties are here on Amazon.
Another simple way to keep your wardrobe bright is through your accessories. Whether it be a scarf, belt, tights or purse, a small pop of color with otherwise neutral colors always takes an outfit up a notch. So if you’re not a neon sweater type of gal, throw on a thin, brightly colored belt or grab a floral bag like I did. I love this floral tote from Kate Spade. It’s proven to be surprisingly versatile and big enough to be a diaper bag without screaming “I’m a diaper bag!”
However you do it, you won’t be disappointed with the mood boosting results of adding in some bright cheery colors to your wardrobe.
