Old McDonald Toddler Birthday Party

July 22, 2020 ยท by Charity Walter

I love celebrating, and having a child seems to add even more meaning to life's special moments and celebrations.

Recently, my son, Monty, turned two, and we threw an Old-McDonald- (or in this case, Old McMonty!) themed birthday party. I thought it was an adorable choice; I was super happy with how it turned out.

We hosted the party at my in-laws' beautiful home on the hillside. It was such a beautiful day, and we had a wonderful time celebrating with family and all Monty's little besties. =)

The kids enjoyed gator rides, a fishing hole, yummy treats, and best of all, good memories. We also had the cutest dress-up contest for Monty's friends to dress up as their favorite farm animals.

For the first time ever, I made Monty a birthday cake! I found a recipe that I now absolutely love. It's just a cake mix fixed up a bit! Several things are added to the box mix to make it even better. Here's the link if you want to try it yourself: https://livforcake.com/almost-scratch-cake/

(If you try it, let me know how it turns out!)

I purchased a few decor items to make the party more fun:

Cow-Print Balloons on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072KD3YMF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Set of 60 Farm Animals on Amazon:

The tablecloths were from Dollar Tree, and I made the signs myself on 1/4" plywood.

Overall, this party was super easy and SO adorable. It was also very affordable using several items I already had -- a win-win!
