Today was really chilly and windy out, so I decided to go cozy and warm, of course! I scored this oversized sweater at Anthropologie in January when they had their big extra-40% sale. When I first saw this sweater, I was drawn to the gold color and also to the soft chenille material. I knew right away that I wanted to try it on. I checked the size and it was an XL (and the last one available). At first, I put it back because I knew that it would be too big on, but later I went back and decided to go ahead and try it.
When I put it on, it was SO warm and cozy. I loved the feel and loved the oversized look. It was more of a dress on me than a sweater. It was big on, but it actually looked like it was made to be that way; it had a Free People vibe to it. The only part that was entirely too big was the cowl neck, but I knew that would be no problem to fix.
I happily purchased my sweater (dress) and wore it the following day. I had a large safety pin that I used to create a smaller cowl-neck/bunched look. I received so many compliments when I wore it out! I styled it with a slip extender underneath just for the slits and wore it with my over-the-knee Franco Sarto boots.
This is now one of my favorite outfits! Not only is it super easy to put together, but it’s ridiculously comfy. It also does a great job of being a perfect maternity outfit for cool weather. =) Sometimes a size tag is just that — a tag.
