As I awoke this morning from the week’s busy schedule of work and much traveling, I met a dear friend at Starbucks for a warm, yummy latte and good, heart-to-heart conversations. There is nothing better than sipping on a delectable Cinnamon Chai Tea Latte with good company in a fun, edgy outfit. (If any of you ladies are coffee and lattes lovers, I strongly encourage you to try this warm, yummy spice infused drink!)
Two Words: Conservative Shopping.
If there is anything I relish more than purchasing a darling, fun outfit, it’s being frugal with my wallet in doing so. Many ladies have this philosophy that dressing fashionable requires spending an enormous amount — when, in actuality, it requires very little from your precious wallet! If you know where to thrift shop, you won’t have to make a sacrifice and spend a fortune.
In my little town of Martinsville, Indiana, there aren’t many local places to shop. In fact, there are only four retail stores to shop at! What a bundle of excitement, right? So with a limited variety of places to choose from, I went to my local Goodwill on a whim one day last weekend and found this blouse and skirt for $6. What I admire greatly about the outfit are the abstract forms of vertical and diagonal stripes along with the floral print. Not to mention the array of colors that pop, too, which creates an artistic appeal to my eye.
The full A-line skirt has a softer look from the pink roses that are closely integrated together with the dark green leaf petals. While it would have been easy could to pair a solid brightly colored or black blouse, I opted to pattern mix for a flair of edginess. Coupling different abstract patterns along with a variant of colors together that harmonizes well is an acquired skill in the fashion department. It shows a thrifty and innovative talent that depicts much of an individuals personal fashion-forward style, especially when buyer herself is being wallet-friendly! I am always astounded when I find some of my favorite brands at my local thrift store and end up paying half the price that I would originally pay otherwise!
Have a blessed weekend, ladies!
