Styling the Bump

September 27, 2023 ยท by Charity Walter

Pregnancy is such an exciting season! Waiting and preparing for your new baby is such a joy. One of my favorite parts of this season is styling the bump. Finding modest maternity clothing can be difficult (and expensive!), but with a little styling of regular size clothing, you can put together gorgeous outfits for your growing bump.

Today, I'm sharing some of my favorite pieces for maternity wear - from casual styles to dressy 'fits! In these photos, I'm 20 to 24 weeks along in my own pregnancy.

Casual Wear / Day Dresses

Simple dresses with a defined waist are adorable for pregnancy! The Wishful Weekend dress comes in six colors and is so comfortable and chic. Pair it with flats or sneakers, ankle boots or mules. This dress is an accessorizing dream!

I love how you can dress up or dress down the Your Favorite Dress: add heels for a lunch date or throw on some sandals for running errands. The flowing silhouette on this adorable piece allows for plenty of room for your growing belly; you'll be able to wear this dress throughout your entire pregnancy!

The Postcard from Paris is the sweetest little dress for casual or nice events. The drawstring waistline pulls you in and displays that adorable bump perfectly. The dainty floral print in 3 colors give all the fall feels.

A flowing maxi dress is so elegant on an expecting lady. The Send My Love dress is another versatile piece that can take you from casual brunch to a church service.

The Garden of Grace dress is the perfect flowy dress that will help you feel comfortable all nine months! The ruffles at the neckline and on the sleeves give such a lady-like feel.

Elegant / Evening Dresses

The Once Upon a Midnight Dress is an elegant dream! The dainty pleats and high waist make for a beautiful maternity dress. Choose your favorite from six different colors and make this your maternity shoot dress!

The Magnificent Moment dress (two colors) is another elegant option for banquets, fancy dates, or church conferences. The midi length and flowing look of this dress give a simple style a high-class feel.

Our Bella dresses have long been maternity favorites, and the autumn version of this dress, the Merry Meadow dress, is no different. I love how easy this dress is throw on and go, while still looking lovely!

The Always the One dress is an absolutely stunning dress that will make you the belle of any ball! That pregnancy glow will only complement this gorgeous tiered maxi.

Skirts and tops for maternity wear can be so easy to style...when the skirt has an elastic waist! Thankfully, our Spin Me Around skirt has a comfortable wide elastic waistband to slip over the bump. Paired with our With Love blouse, this outfit is a fabulous fall/winter ensemble.

Our Classic in Black Collection has so many maternity options. The Fly Me to the Moon dress has plenty of room for that early pregnancy bump. The maxi length and Swiss dot material are incredibly elegant for any formal event you may have.

The Belle of Buckingham dress will be your go-to for formal events. The black lace, dainty kick pleat, and attached cape are the most gorgeous details. This dress is the perfect choice for black tie events, weddings, banquets, the symphony, and so much more.

The flattering A-line fit of the Garden at Dusk dress is perfect for expecting mothers. Feel sophisticated and classy in this gorgeous green and gold sequin number.
