Charity Jewell, here, friends!
Owning a clothing boutique and picking out your favorite dresses is hard, but going through the whole process of designing a full collection, seeing it through from start to end, and then finally having the finished products in hand and choosing favorites is even tougher!
This collection was the HARDEST for picking my new favorites because there are just SO many good pieces. I ended up keeping almost one of each new piece — an awesome perk of being the one who labored hour after hour over every thread! Naturally though, there was one dress that somehow ended up standing out and making it to the top of my “I-absolutely-adore-this-piece” list. And that dress was . . . the Exquisite Symphony Dress!
The name has a fitting ring to it, don’t you think? Nichole, Jennifer, and I end up naming most of the dresses ourselves, and when I heard this name, I knew it was the perfect match. First, the lace on this dress is literally exquisite — I mean, seriously! By definition, exquisite means “extremely beautiful and, typically, delicate.” And symphony makes me think of how members of an orchestra come together in harmony and play flawlessly together, making a sweet-sounding symphony even though the musicians are all from different places. In the same way, this dress consists of two laces that are completely different in pattern and color, yet they work together for a breathtaking effect. It reminds me of how God takes pieces of our lives that may not be pretty or may not stand out in and of themselves, and He meshes them together into a stunning masterpiece.
Another perk of being the designer is getting to wear “test” samples before the final dresses actually release. Well, this sample, I might have literally worn to every event I attended this past season! I plan on wearing it to holiday events, too, with a peek of red accessories. I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve had wearing this dress. I felt very much like a princess wearing it, and with a fitted bodice and full waistline, this dress actually IS fit for royalty. It’s also super-comfy, like wearing a dream.
If you didn’t get to tune in to our Fall Collection LIVE video on Facebook, make sure you do! (Watch it here.) In addition to a few fun details about this dress, the video has so much great info about many of the other new pieces, as well. I know you’ll love it! One neat thing I included in the video about the Exquisite Symphony Dress is that we lined the underside of the long sleeves with black lace to create a slimming look on the arms. How fun, right?
One of my favorite quotes is from Audrey Hepburn — “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” I can tell you that wearing this dress will definitely make you feel elegant — and exquisite, too!
I hope you enjoy the Exquisite Symphony Dress as much as I do ~ let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
