The Perfect Brunch

January 29, 2015

I am a huge fan of brunch! I think my love for it stems from the fact that I am not a morning person, so dining between breakfast and lunch is ideal. I love trying new restaurants with my friends on a Saturday morning, it is quite a delightful experience. However, you can host an exquisite brunch without setting foot into a restaurant or café.

Here is some inspiration for hosting the perfect brunch in the comfort of your home!

Before we get into the food aspect of your perfect brunch, we must first need to discuss the overall décor. If you are inviting your girlfriends, then the overall theme should be colorful and feminine. Personally, I love a Kate Spade inspired tablescape. The one pictured below is gorgeous and girly, and can be achieved with the right tablecloth, gold dishes or paper plates and cutlery, which are fairly inexpensive. Finish it off with a bouquet of fresh peonies and voilà! you have yourself a Kate Spade inspired masterpiece.

Fresh flowers are an absolute must for brunch. My favorites are pink peonies, however, if for some reason peonies are not your cup of tea, then you can pick up some roses, lilies or wildflowers at your local market. Beautifully packaged bouquets can be purchased nearly everywhere, from Trader Joe’s, your local florist or even cut fresh from your own garden.

Now, of course, we have our main attraction: the food! Having delectable food is an absolute must when hosting a brunch. If you are anything like me, you probably have a coffee addiction. That’s okay though, because your friends probably love coffee just as much as you do. For a special touch, lay out a coffee bar for your guests. All you need to do is set out a small table and set out several different mugs, creamers and coffee flavors.

Now on to the main course! Some of my favorite brunch courses include pumpkin pancakes, fresh fruit, fried potatoes, quiche, bacon, a light salad and muffins. Below is a picture of one of the many ways you can display your courses. You can use labels if you wish to add an extra touch. I also love the idea of a brunch kabob. Below they use strawberries, donut holes, and blackberries, but you can substitute so many different bite sized foods onto your kabob for a unique and delicious brunch experience.

There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting down to a delicious meal with your closest friends. It’s about sharing hopes, dreams, future possibilities, life, love and laughter. I hope that this post has inspired you to host a brunch to connect with the ladies in your life just as much as it has inspired me!
