Spring: what a beautiful season of new beginnings and beauty.
God emphasizes the importance of seasons many times in His Word, and there are many scriptures that speak of spring time as a representation of positive change and abundant blessings. In particular, He mentions sending spring rain to bring about the growth and prosperity His children seek. God knows that the only way growth and harvest can occur is through the rain. Plants and crops would not survive without it, and neither can we, as the children of God, survive without the timely rain of the Spirit in our lives. In many of the scriptures we are reminded that it is our LORD who sends the rain. Everything we need to sustain and grow us in this life is provided by Him alone. The scriptures remind us to acknowledge Him, be patient, be glad, rejoice in the Lord, and ASK Him for the rain. If we do these things He is faithful to send the abundant showers of the Spirit that we thirst and long after. The season of spring is officially here! Let’s seek the Lord together to send the spring rain into our lives and our churches.
"Then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil." - Deuteronomy 11:14
"Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth." - Hosea 6:3
"Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains." - James 5:7
"Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before." - Joel 2:23
"Ask the LORD to rain in the springtime; it is the LORD who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone." - Zechariah 10:1
May you have a beautiful and flourishing season of spring!
