November is the month of Thanksgiving.
But we all know that. It’s a time where we come together with our families and celebrate while showing our gratitude for life.
Given the events of the past few weeks, we have a lot to be thankful for — regardless of who you voted for or did not vote for in the American Presidential Election. Why? Because we know who is really in control: JESUS.
I’m thankful that God allowed me to be born in a country where I am allowed to have rights; a place that allows me to have freedom of speech and freedom of religion. I’m thankful that I have chosen to put my trust in Him. The one true King. The One who — despite any opposition that I or our country may face —- controls every move and every decision.
I’m thankful that I know WHO He is! I’m thankful that He died for my sins so that I could be saved. I’m thankful that He has given me chance after chance, even though I have failed him so many times. He has shown me mercy and grace countless times, and for that I am grateful.
I’m thankful that He has blessed me abundantly. He has given me so much to be grateful for. My church, my husband, my God-given talents, my family, my child, miracles, food on my table — and the list goes on.
Think back to time when you needed God. When you thought that all was lost and that it couldn’t get worse, but somehow you pulled through. What was your prayer like then? And when God came through for you, did you thank Him? Then think about the good times when everything was going great! Did you stop to say, “Thank You!”?
Take this month and really think about the things YOU are thankful for. List the ways that God has been good to you. Write them down and hang them up as a reminder so that you aren’t only reminded this month, but daily of your blessings. Then give GOD thanks without asking for anything in return. Just give Him a worship of thankfulness.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
