Timeless Wedding: Aubrey & Garrison

November 02, 2022 · by Andrea Long

We're so excited to have newlywed Aubrey Givens join us on the blog today to share about her gorgeous wedding. We love every bright and elegant detail! Welcome, Aubrey!

DJ: How would you describe your wedding theme?

Timeless. I wanted to be able to look back at my wedding pictures twenty years down the road and still love everything about it. I know so many people who did their weddings in what style was popular then and now they don’t like it.

DJ: What are some of your favorite or special memories of your day?

I think some of the most special moments of our wedding day was spending the time before the wedding with my family and my bridesmaids. Being able to have both my mom and sister with me to get ready meant a lot to me.

My favorite memory of the day was right after the ceremony. We had just walked back down the aisle and were standing in the foyer waiting to go take pictures… we both had a moment of realization that we were finally married; it was the best feeling ever!

DJ: Were there any funny moments or things that didn't go according to plan?

The morning of the wedding my then fiancé was on his way to the church; he was almost there when he got in a little fender bender. He was already cutting it close to the time he was supposed to be there and ended up being an hour late for pictures. No one knew about the accident except for him and his groomsmen… He was planning on telling me after the wedding but he just couldn’t wait and told me while we were standing at unity candle.

DJ: Do you have any advice for future brides?

My advice would be not to stress yourself out about making sure everything is absolutely perfect. Of course, you want it to be as nice as you can make it and for it to go as smooth as possible, but things are going to happen no matter how much planning you do. Most people won’t notice if something goes wrong and you definitely won’t notice, especially during the ceremony. Just enjoy your big day!

Another thing I would say is that if you have a tight budget for your wedding, the two things I would splurge on would be your dress and a good photographer. The pictures are really the only thing that you’ll have to remember all the details and special moments of your wedding day.

DJ: Your pictures are beautiful. Who was your wedding photographer?

Elissa Pace is the BEST wedding photographer in the business. I cannot brag on her enough! She’s amazing! She’s so easy to work with and she makes you feel so comfortable while taking pictures. Here’s the link to her website https://elissapace.com/ . I recommend everyone reaching out to her for your wedding photos.
