This poem is a simple contrast to the idea that broken is a loss, as well as the expression of the counter opinion that the mending of broken is a gain.
The idea of rest after our rescue by God, and the mending of the broken pieces by him, completely disrupts the notion of castle storming victory.
Our victory does not come only in noise, but it also comes in quiet triumph. He speaks into silence and into the moments in our lives that are not glamorous. The inspiration of this piece was found on the other side of personal growth and achievement. My hope is to encourage an appreciation for the broken places we all come from, and the stillness that comes in the healing.
