If you are anything like me, then you often find yourself over dressing for every occasion. Work is no exception. At my place of work we are required to dress up a bit, which I happen to love. However, just because you are required to dress up and abide to a specific dress code, that doesn’t mean that dressing for work has to be boring. Here are a few tips on how to spice up your work wardrobe, because nothing will make you hate your job more than a drab wardrobe.

✿ Purchase bright, patterned blazers. The one I am sporting in these pictures is from BCBG Max Azria. I love a bright blazer. It makes a statement that is so desperately needed in my work attire.
✿ Heels. You can still wear heels to work without wanting to pass out. I know the struggle, ladies: wearing five-inch stilettos for eight hours isn’t exactly my idea of fun either. However, heels add a level of sophistication that cannot be achieved any other way. Instead of wearing super high heels, opt for a heeled booties, a wedge or a chunky heel, like the one shown below. This will create the same effect without the foot pain.
✿ Pencil Skirts. Pencil skirts are an absolute essential as a modest woman in the work world. I am obsessed with high-waisted pencil skirts and would definitely recommend them for work purposes. Nothing says chic like a high-waisted midi skirt. Luckily, the midi trend is so in right now, which is highly beneficial for us. I haven’t had any trouble finding modest skirts lately, and for that I am forever grateful.
✿ T-shirts. Lastly, t-shirts keep the ensemble comfortable and causal. I love wearing really dressy pieces with t-shirts. It keeps the outfit cool, as opposed to stuffy. I would recommend purchasing higher quality tees in basic colors like white, black, grey and nude.
