New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are just around the corner, which of course gives us an excuse to don our most sparkly, festive outfits!
The outfit below is actually what I wore Christmas Eve, however, it could easily transition to a New Year’s Eve Outfit. This outfit is one of my favorites because it is festive without appearing elfish or resembling Mrs. Clause, if you know what I mean! During the holiday season, it is traditional to be a bit more dressed up than normal because we tend to make appearances at various holiday parties.
I am an advocate of sequins all year round, however, they are especially popular during the holidays, and, in my opinion are an absolutely necessity for New Year’s celebrations!
I wore this outfit to my family Christmas party and then changed into my favorite Tahari Heels for our Christmas Eve candlelight service later that night. I decided to wear a red silk blouse with a black sequin skirt. I knew I wanted to wear a blazer to complete the look and finally decided on an oversized blazer. I had a difficult time choosing footwear, and then decided that I wanted to wear flats for once in my life. I purchased these flats at JCrew and I am obsessed with them! They are black-watch plaid, are so wonderfully festive and give the outfit a bit of an unexpected edge. For my bag I decided to use a vintage, leather Coach bag that is one of my favorites for every day wear.
Spice up your typical style with a sparkly or glittery article of clothing to complete your New Year’s outfit, whether a skirt, blouse, vest or shoes!
