It's officially summer season in the South, and my family and I are reaching for refreshing drinks to rehydrate and beat the heat! Today, I'm sharing 3 of my favorite drinks for summer. These drinks are healthy, fresh, and tasty for the whole family!
Coconut Water Refresher
This recipe is refreshing and also support the adrenals.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz coconut water
- Juice from 1 lime
- Pinch of sea salt
- Splash of fresh orange juice (optional)
Instructions: Mix all ingredients together and enjoy on a hot day!
Fizzy Electrolytes
Staying hydrated this summer isn't just about getting enough water. Replacing electrolytes is also important. This is my favorite way to get in those staple nutrients.
Ingredients:
- 1 8 oz can unflavored sparkling water
- 1 scoop electrolytes of choice (I like Just Ingredients lemon lime electrolytes or LMNT citrus salt)
Instructions: Mix ingredients well (be careful of the fizz!) and enjoy!
Summer Fruit Smoothie
I'm a 100% smoothie girl! If I'm craving ice cream, a healthy fruit smoothie is a great way for me to get a sweet treat instead.
Ingredients:
- 4-8 oz liquid of choice (I like to use almond milk for a creamier smoothie or organic juice for a more refreshing drink).
- 1 cup frozen fruit of choice
- Add-ins (optional)
- protein powder
- nuts & seeds
- coconut flakes
- nutrient powders (maca, moringa, spirulina, etc.)
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Add more liquid for a drink-like consistency; for a smoothie bowl, decrease the liquid and add more fruit. Enjoy!
