There is nothing that I look forward to more during the fall season than those cozy comfort foods. Once a year we get to enjoy everything apple, cinnamon, and pumpkin, all wrapped up in deliciousness, whether it be a hot drink or warm meal. This recipe is a quick and easy treat for that perfect autumn morning or evening -- like, if fall was a dessert, this would be it!
What you'll need:
1 cinnamon roll package
1 medium apple
1/4 cup apple sauce
1 tsp cinnamon
First, peel the skin off the apple. Then dice into bite-size pieces.
Next, pop the cinnamon roll container and unroll that delicious dough. Set aside the frosting packet for later. Cut each cinnamon roll into bite-size pieces.
This next part is so easy, you can let your kids help! Dump the apples into a medium bowl. Add in the cinnamon roll pieces, apple sauce, and cinnamon. It will smell amazing.
Mix well with a spoon. Spray a 9-inch pie pan with cooking spray. Spread the mixture evenly into the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. When it's ready, the coloring won't change much but the dough will be firm and the apples soft if you check with a toothpick.
Remove from the oven and immediately cut open the frosting packet. Drizzle evenly over the entire pan. Serve hot and enjoy! The chunks of fresh warm apple weave with the gooey cinnamon rolls, making this the yummiest breakfast snack or the best treat after a hearty dinner. You'll be so surprised how quickly this comes together that you'll want to make it again and again.
