Our daughter, Asha, turned ONE, and we celebrated with a hot air balloon birthday party! This was such a fun, budget-friendly theme, and I think it works for a boy or girl party, with a few small changes, of course.
We found an invitation we liked on Etsy, and then I built an idea board (using Canva) based on the colors and vintage style of the invitation.
My sister, Alex, was the brains behind the decor. She did all the balloon art and made this adorable hot air balloon.
She used a basket, 4 dowel rods secured with zip ties, flowers and ribbon, and a giant balloon!
Alex also made Asha the cutest birthday hat and headband out of felt, ribbon, pompoms, and a little hot glue.
It's nice to have creative people in your family! My mom has been a cake decorator since before I was born, so, of course, she made the cake.
We did a fun tiered cake for the dessert table, and small plain smash cake for Asha.
The best part of the evening was having friends and family gather around to pray with us as we dedicated our sweet girl to the Lord and made a commitment to raise her according to His Word.
It's both sad and exciting to watch our babies grow up, up, up, but we love our Asha and are so thankful we get to be a part of her story.
