Caramel Apples + A Fall Tradition

October 01, 2015

When I think of fall foods, this yummy treat tops the list.

What could be more delicious than a crisp apple encased in an ooey-gooey blanket of caramel?
Every year in October, my mother and I make up a batch of caramel apples. It’s become a fun (and yummy!) tradition and I am sharing our no-fail recipe with you today. Enjoy!

Quick + No-Fail Caramel Apples

Ingredients

6 medium apples (green or red, whichever you prefer)

1 (14 oz.) package of individually wrapped caramels (unwrapped)

2 tablespoons milk

any additional toppings you desire

Instructions

1. Remove the stem from each apple and press a popsicle/craft stick into the top.

2. Place caramels and milk in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave 2 minutes. Stir.

3. Roll each apple quickly in caramel sauce until well coated. Place on buttered baking sheet to set.

After the apples have set for at least 15 minutes, it’s time to get creative. What toppings do you like? Melted white or dark chocolate, sea salt, or nuts, perhaps? So many options await!
