There is no doubt everyone LOVES a good salsa. Whether you like it spicy or not, there is always a recipe for everyone. Let's change it up a bit this time. Usually red salsa means hot and green is mild but today I will share with you a chunky mild red salsa and a VERY spicy green jalapeño & cilantro salsa that you will love.
CHUNKY MILD SALSA:
5 Tomatoes
2 Jalapeños
1/4 White Onion
2 Garlic Cloves
1 Cup Cilantro
Juice of 1 large lime
1/2 tbsp Mexican oregano
1 tsp Salt & Pepper (or to taste)
-After washing all veggies, roast tomatoes, peppers, onion and garlic cloves for 10-15 minutes in the broiler or on a pan. Once they are nice and roasted, throw them into the blender, and you are going to use the "pulse" setting 5-7 times until you get a chunky consistency.
-Pour into a large bowl and add chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, pepper and oregano. Mix it up, and it's all done!
SPICY JALAPEÑO + CILANTRO SALSA: 5 Jalapeños
1 cup Cilantro
1/4 White Onion
Juice of 2 limes
3 Garlic Cloves
Salt and Pepper to taste
This one is for the brave and all the heat lovers!
Wash all veggies, and into the blender they go, raw and all. Blend for 1-2 minutes until it's nice and smooth. This salsa is silky but you will feel texture coming from the fresh cilantro.
Add to a glass jar and squeeze the lime and seasoning.
HERE IS A TIP: add 2 tbsp of sour cream if you like creamy, spicy salsa. This will change up the flavor from delicious to incredible!
Now you have 2 new salsa recipes to share in your home with family and friends. ENJOY!
