Christmastime is one of my favorite times of the year. All the lights, the baking, the music, and the cheer — it all brings such joy and warmth! One of my favorite things to do in the season is to make treats. This is a holiday favorite for me. It’s such an easy and delicious treat to make and is always a hit at parties.
This recipe has lots of different names and variations, but I call mine Butterscotch Marshmallow Crunch Bars. The best thing about this recipe is that it’s a no-bake recipe and only requires 5 ingredients.
Butterscotch Marshmallow Crunch Bars
Ingredients
- 10 oz. bag of mini marshmallows
- one bag of butterscotch chips (chocolate-chips style)
- 1 to 1.5 cups of peanut butter
- 1 stick of butter
- Golden Graham cereal (or any other crunchy variety of your choice)
Instructions
Start with a mixing bowl. Melt the butterscotch chips and stick of butter in 30-second increments in the microwave, stirring after every session, until completely melted.
Add in the peanut butter, and stir until thoroughly mixed together and smooth.
Next, fold in the marshmallows and mix until evenly coated. I add in crushed (by hand) Golden Graham cereal after that and fold until evenly distributed.
Take mixture and spread evenly into a cake pan. Put in the refrigerator to chill until it is set.
You can mix up this recipe and make it your own by adding nuts, Rice Krispies, shredded coconut, or anything that sounds good to you!
This recipe may sound like it would be overpowering on the sweetness factor, but it’s not at all bad. Just have a big glass of milk waiting. And take it from someone who doesn’t even like butterscotch, this is one of my favorite treats. It’s a good balance of peanut butter and butterscotch, mixed.
I hope you get to try this quick and easy recipe. If you do, please let us know your thoughts. Happy Holidays!
