I have a Pinterest board where I save party ideas, even if I don't have a special event coming up. Anyone else? I just love a good party theme! Lemonade bars have been trending, and the ladies in my family got together on a random weeknight for one, and we had so much fun. I provided the lemonade and fruit flavored syrups, and everyone brought different fruits and created different lemonade combinations. We also had chips and salsa (highly recommend with the lemonade!) and played a personalized Jenga game (will share below) and everyone ended up laughing and sharing stories - it just filled my cup! A lemonade bar can be as simple as lemonade and fruit but I tend to be a little extra when it comes to parties, so we added a few extra things to make it fun.
ITEMS NEEDED:
- Lemonade (I used premade store-bought; I also got pink lemonade)
- Drink dispenser - or a pitcher!
- Cups (I would also recommend having small 4 oz cups so guests can try out different flavors before committing to a large cup)
- Ice
- Fruit flavored syrups (I highly recommend finding these at T.J.Maxx or Marshalls, a full size bottle is only $6-$8)
- Fruit (we used a combination of fresh and frozen)
OPTIONAL ITEMS:
- Straws
- Fruit shaped silicone molds for the ice (we did this to make things extra cutesy!)
- Mint - or other herbs for flavor
- Citrus napkins
- Citrus plates
My personal favorite flavor combinations were: regular lemonade, blackberry syrup, blackberries and limes and also: regular lemonade, peach syrup, peaches and mint. I'm typically a water and coffee girl only but these were so refreshing!
If you're curious about the Jenga game, I took a Jenga set and wrote questions on each one like:
- What's an item on your bucket list?
- What's something that you're proud of?
- When was the last time you really laughed?
- What's been the best thing that's happened so far this year?
- What's a hobby you've always dreamed of?
- What's something that's underrated?
- What's a plan you're looking forward to?
- What's the most recent encounter with a stranger that made you smile?
You set up the Jenga pieces like you normally would in a tower and as a player picks a piece, they have to answer the question on it. I want to play this game again; it was such a fun way to catch up with my loved ones! I think it would also be a great game for a youth group. I highly recommend trying it!
