Iced Lavender Chai Latte

September 12, 2022 ยท by Brittani Scott

If you know me, you know I'm not a coffee drinker.

Not because I want to take care of my voice or any other noble reason (although my voice does benefit), but because I just don't like the way it tastes.

Being from Seattle, it's almost a sin to not like coffee. But as many drinks as others have insisted I try, it's just not good to me!

I hope we can still be friends.

Grabbing coffee together is such a social thing, so I'm always looking for something I can order when everyone wants to head to a local coffee shop.

I discovered my love of lavender when I had a lavender shortbread cookie. I then stumbled onto a coffee shop in Texas that served an iced lavender latte with no coffee. Unfortunately, the barista was unwilling to share his secrets and I headed home to Seattle where this coffee shop and its secret recipe were unavailable to me.

I decided to try a lavender chai tea latte, and it was close enough that it has become my go-to order.

Not all chai teas are created equally. A local barista introduced me to the Nordstrom brand (available at the Nordstrom eBar), and it quickly became my favorite. It's not too spicy, which makes make for a great combination with the lavender.

It's also an easy drink to make at home, so I wanted to share the recipe with you! I am not a barista, but I think it's delicious. I hope you enjoy it!

Iced Lavender Chai Latte

What You Need

  • Chai Tea (I prefer Nordstrom)
  • Water
  • Milk
  • Lavender
  • Ice

1. Mix 3 tablespoons of Chai with 2 ounces of cold water.

Or follow the instructions for Chai Tea of your choice.

2. Fill glass with ice.

3. Add milk of choice to glass of ice and Chai mixture, leaving room for lavender syrup.

4. Pour in 3 tablespoons of lavender syrup.

Or start with 2, then add to taste.

5. Mix well and enjoy!
