Mother's Day is just around the corner. Impress MOM with something fun and delicious this year! Charcuterie boards are an easy way to entertain any guest, but today I want to switch it up and show you how easy it is to make it a beautiful gift for all the cheese and charcuterie lovers.
First thing you need to buy are these paper mache letters, any size that works for you. You can find them in stores like Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Target, or Amazon. With a sharp cutter, slowly cut around the letters and then remove the top part. The sharper the cutter the easier it will be. Be careful!
Once you cut around the letters remove the filling and toss.
Fill in the inside with tissue paper or parchment paper. The cheese and meats will release oil if it gets hot or they're left in the letters for a long time, so the paper will help to keep everything nice and clean.
The best part about a Charcuterie Board is that the options are endless. There is no wrong way of doing this. Choose what you love and run with it. I personally like to start off with the CHEESE! I love a spicy cheese (Jalapeño Monterey), a creamy cheese (Blueberry Goat), and a strong cheese such as Gouda or any kind of Cheddar. Then choose cured meats like salami, chorizo, and prosciutto. For a flavorful and colorful touch, add fresh fruit or dried fruit if you prefer.
For a nice crunch include nuts and crackers, and for a rich and delicate flavor add some chocolate candy. Use fresh rosemary or thyme to top it off, and it is ALL DONE!
