April 03, 2026 · by Ashton Dorow
If you're looking for a last minute dessert to put together this Easter holiday, look no further! This cake is SO delicious and very easy to prepare, using a boxed cake mix and sprucing it up with added ingredients. My grandmother is actually making it for Easter lunch this year, and I'm very much looking forward to eating it soon--haha!
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE CAKE
~ 1 box white cake mix
~ 3 tablespoons plain flour
~ 1 3oz box strawberry Jello
~ 1/2 cup of water
~ 3/4 cup oil (canola or vegetable)
~ 1 cup fresh or frozen puréed strawberries
~ 4 eggs
FOR THE ICING
~ 1 stick of softened butter
~ 1 8oz package of softened cream cheese
~ 1 cup frozen or fresh puréed strawberries
~ 3 cups powdered sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine cake mix, flour, Jello, and water with a hand or stand mixer.
2. Add oil and eggs, one at a time, beating well between.
3. Add strawberries and beat for 2 minutes.
4. Pour batter into well greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, add all icing ingredients to a mixing bowl and combine with mixer until creamy.
6. Pour icing over cake after it has baked and fully cooled.
7. Optional: add sliced strawberries to the top for garnish!
8. Store the cake in the fridge. I would recommend letting it sit in the fridge for a while before serving so the icing can set.
