The photos of Elizabeth and Brendan were first brought to our attention via our CEO and Designer Extraordinaire, Charity Walter, and we knew we had to share this gorgeous couple with you! The joy in their relationship is so beautiful and energizing. Elizabeth sweetly shares their story below…
*The Beginning*
The moment I saw Brendan for the first time on March 17, 2014, I knew in my heart without having even spoken to him yet that he was the one for me. Four weeks after our initial meeting he got my number, and within 6 months we dated, fell in love, and were engaged. He’s my best friend who keeps me laughing, my forever boyfriend who is SO thoughtful and romantic, and most importantly my partner in ministry who loves following Jesus and serving others!
*The Engagement*
Brendan had hoped I would fly up to Toronto for a few days after Christmas to spend time with him and his family. And while my sweet mother-in-love told him that it too last minute to make happen, she and I secretly booked the flight. I’ll never forget the priceless look on his face when he walked into his parents living room on December 26 and saw me having tea with his mom!
On the other hand, my mother-in-law knew Brendan wanted to buy a ring while he was in town for the holidays, and he was surprised when she picked him up from the airport and took him straight to the jeweller’s. When I arrived and surprised him, he put it all together: his mom had given him the perfect chance to propose!
On December 29, the night before I left for home, he told me to dress up for a date night on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. We had dinner at the top of Skylon Tower, then we went to see the beautiful Christmas tree at the top of the grand staircase of the Crowne Plaza. The next thing I knew, he was down on one knee, I had said yes, and my siblings-in-law had come out of hiding with their cameras. It was perfect!
