Thanksgiving season is still here, even though the actual date has passed us by.
The echoes of laughter we will carry within us for the next few weeks. The warm and secure feelings of just being around the table with those you love and cherish will remain. The bounty of love and gratitude, these are a few of the things that make this cozy season so special.
Thanksgiving is my favorite season! It’s a time when we all make an effort to get together, near or far, to spend time with loved ones, and cherish those moments.
How much the more should we take the time each and every day to thank God for all His goodness? Today, I hope you’ve taken the time to actually remind yourself of all your blessings, and thank Him for each and every one of them. I’m most thankful for the love Jesus has shown me every day. I’m thankful for the truth that I love, I’m thankful for the cross, and for his grace and mercy that is new each day!
During this season of thanksgiving and family-time, it is more apparent to me more than ever that there is a world that is crying out with a need and malnourishment. A need for a reaching hand to pull them up, a need for unconditional love, and a malnourishment of souls that are desperate for Jesus and truth. This world needs your love. We are Jesus’ hands and feet while on this earth, therefore, we must share his heartbeat for every human, we must let his love shine through us day in and day out. Reach for those that are cast down, and uplift them with His love. Allow your mouths to be full of thanksgiving this season, that others may hear of God’s goodness.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
{I Thessalonians 5:18}
No matter the circumstances, let us be reminded that God is always good, and just. His ways are higher than our ways, and we are to be led by faith. Don’t be discouraged when you’re walking through the valley low, for he is still by your side. And when you are at the mountain top, there shall he be also! Wherever you may find yourself today, let your soul be at peace in the knowledge that he is with you. He is the lover of your soul.
