Host a Galentine's Party

February 14, 2022 ยท by Charity Walter

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is a day dedicated to love - not just the love between a husband and wife, but also love and friendship with our friends and family. This new concept of Galentine's has come about in the past few years as a way to get together with your gal pals and have a fun party! Invite some friends over (great for youth groups and ladies' groups) and have a relaxing evening of fellowship, food, games, and laughter.

One of my favorite ways to display food for a get-together is creating a charcuterie board. Charcuterie boards can be simple and inexpensive to make and add such a fancy flair to any party you are hosting.

I recently created a Galentine's charcuterie board for the Dainty Jewell's team, incorporating all the pink and red sweets that we enjoy on this day of love.

I started with a cute board and a few sweet treats. You can adjust to whatever suits your fancy, but I chose small, pretty cookies, vanilla wafers, fancy chocolates, red and pink candies, raspberries, and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Start with a pretty platter; I used a wooden cutting board/pizza board. Find some small dishes or containers for the loose candies and fruit (also great for dipping sauces, if you have them) and space your items around the board.

Pro tip: space out your colors so that one color is not concentrated on one side or section of the board.

You can provide small plates or cups for your guests to gather their preferred treats straight from the board. The options for charcuterie boards are limitless! You can do a meat and cheese tray, fruit and veggie combo, cookies (or other desserts), s'mores board, etc. Have fun and get creative!

Whatever theme you decide to use, a charcuterie board will always be a great option for any party! So gather your besties this Valentine's Day and celebrate in style. Be sure to tag us on social media if you use this idea!
